While preparing my seasonal lists of specialty cocktails, I am often faced with the question “Does this recipe actually represent the spirit of the holiday?”
But never more so than St. Patrick’s Day.
Is it enough if the drink is green but actually holds no Irish ingredients? Or must it include Irish brands and/or spirits?
Does it really matter?
I don’t think so, as long as the spirit of St. Patrick remains alive. So bring on the music and chase away the serpents that torment you with one of these “as authentic as they need to be” Irish cocktails.
